Description
Bring the combination of sweet and sour tastes to a hamburger. Sweet & Sour Hamburgers offer a wide range of flavors and are great to serve for lunch or dinner.

Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef
5 tablespoons soy sauce
½ teaspoon ginger
1 can (16 oz.) whole baby carrots
¼ cup Nalley® sweet pickle juice
water
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1 ½ teaspoons sugar
½ teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons salad oil
1 ½ cups sliced celery
1 package (6 oz.) frozen Chinese pea pods, optional
4 green onions, cut in 1-inch pieces
1 cup Nalley® sweet pickles
3 cups hot, cooked rice

Directions
Combine ground beef, 2 tablespoons soy sauce and ginger until well mixed. Shape into 4 hamburger patties; set aside. Into a 2-cup measure, drain off carrot liquid; add pickle juice and enough water to equal 1 ½ cups. To pickle-juice mixture, stir in remaining 3 tablespoons soy sauce, cornstarch, sugar and salt until well combined; set aside.

In large skillet over medium-high heat, heat salad oil. Cook hamburgers 10 minutes for medium doneness, turning once. Remove hamburgers to platter; keep warm.

In same skillet, sauté celery, pea pods and green onions in drippings, stirring constantly, about 2 minutes. Gradually stir in carrot liquid and continue cooking until mixture thickens and begins to boil. Add carrots, pickles and hamburgers and continue cooking until heated through. Serve with rice.

Makes 4 servings.
